175th Anniversary of Holly Springs Baptist Church
History
The Holly Springs Baptist Church was organized in 1833, before Arkansas remitted to the Union in 1836. Holly Springs was settled in 1841, a post village on Chapel Street. At the time it was settled there was no Dallas County in Arkansas.
It's not known what type of building the first church was, but in 1857, John A Toney and his wife, Virginia, deeded the present land for a church. In 1913, the old church was replaced with a new one, which is the present building. This building was designed by Ruth Sorrels Fultz. Her wedding was the frist to be performed there.
In 1927 and 1928 (after Bearden Baptist Church was organized), a great number of the members moved their letters there, leaving our little church struggling. It finally closed its doors in the 1940's
In 1948, with help from the Association Missionary, A.P. Elliff and Douglas Jinks, a student from Ouachita Baptist University. In 1951, the First Baptist Church of Camden took our church as a mission, providing one-half of the money to repair the church building and Bro. John Miller was made pastor.
From 1965-1969, with no Pastor and very few members, the church again had to close its doors. In 1970 with Bro. Roscoe Meyers as pastor, our little church's doors were opened again. In 1975, Bro. Bill Johnson was called as pastor and during his years here the membership went from 15 to 60.
There have been many ups and downs in our little church, but God is blessing and as of today, with the guidance of our pastor Bro. David Dillard, we're trying to do the work God would have us do.

Current
Within the 15+ years, God has been working in the Church in Holly Springs. The Holly Springs Baptist Church has recently built a new Family Life Center and is in the early stages of dealing with the growth happening because of the presence of God's hand there. The Church now averages around 150 people on Sunday morning. We have several active missions to areas of Branson, and Internationally in Brazil and Africa.
Sunday March 16th was celebrated as our 175th Ann. Service. This included testimonies from members of the Church. If you missed this service you can hear it in length below. God Bless.
